Introduction

Our Ph.D. programme’s preferred input are students who have completed one of their higher degrees with us. Each student must qualify for formal acceptance in the programme after passing an examination. We also offers a unique opportunity for professionals at large to work towards their Ph.D. in the settings of their work environments through Off-campus schemes.

• On Campus Ph.D

  The doctoral thesis is an integral component of the Ph.D. degree programme. It carries a minimum of 40 units to be usually collected in four semesters. Ph.D. students can register for the Thesis course only after passing the Qualifying Examination and after approval of their topic of research and supervisor by the Research Board. 

  We offer aspiring doctorates the flexibility to pursue the thesis either campus or at Practice School Centres and in certain circumstances even at other specific centres.

  BITS-HP Labs India PhD Fellowship

  In partnership with HP Labs India, we have jointly instituted a unique PhD fellowship for research in the area of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) relevant to economies such as India. This fellowship has been set up to attract candidates of exceptional abilities to carry out research in this area.
