The faculty members of the Department continue to explore opportunities for collaborative research, development and consultancy in range of areas of specialization.
The area is often identified with the area in which opportunities for undertaking sponsored, R & D and consultancy exist.
Currently ongoing R&D project include those Sponsored by National as well as International Agencies.
Projects Ongoing / Sanctioned:
- Development of Software Defined Radio (SDR) Based GNSS (GLONASS + IRNSS) Receiver, ISRO, 25 Months (Aug 2017 to Aug 2019), Rs 33 Lakhs.
- Development of Remotely Configurable Arbitrary Ramp Generator for FMCW Reflectometry (collaboration with CSIS Department), PFRC-BRNS, 2 Years ( April 2017 to March 2019), Rs 28 Lakhs.
- Development of PCDA –Liposome based detection kit for Alzheimer’s disease biomarker (collaboration with Chemistry Department), SERB, 3 years (Mar-2017 to Feb-2020), Rs. 26.632 Lakhs.
- Cloud Based Analytics Sensor Test Kit for Advanced Process Control, Bill & Melinda Gates foundation:(collaboration with Biological Sciences Department), 18 Months (Jan 2017 to Sept 2018) Rs 85 Lakhs + Rs 25.82 Lakhs.
- Development of sensing system for residual pesticide and harmful chemical detection in fruits and vegetables (collaboration with Chemistry Department, Consortium of CDAC Kolkata and Jadavpur University Kolkata), R.D Tata Trust, 2 Years (Aug. 2016-Jul 2018), Rs. 53.5 lakhs.
- Development of field portable device for the analysis of contaminant in water (collaboration with Chemistry Department), BRNS, DAE Govt. of India, 3 Years (June 2015 to May 2018), Rs. 24.138 lakhs.
- Pilot Project on Implementation of Wireless Sensor Network for Process Monitoring of GAIL’s Pipeline, GAIL India (Ltd), Bhiwadi, Rajasthan, 30 Months ( February, 2015- ), Rs 98.78 Lakhs.

- Design and Analysis of MEMS Switches for the Arc-less Operation and Control of Electric Energy Processing Systems, Additional Competitive Research Grant (BITS-Pilani), 2 Years (August 2015 to August 2017), Rs 7.50 Lakhs.
- FPGA Based Fuzzy Logic Pico motor Controller for Laser Beam Pointing Stability Correction, DAE-BRNS, 2 Years (July 2015-June 2017), Rs 24.46 Lakhs.
- Hardware Implementation of Time Frequency Distribution of Mirnov Oscillations in Tokamak Using the Hilbert-Huang Transform, Board of Research in Fusion Science & Technology (BRFST), 2 Years, (September 2012 – August 2014), Rs 22.58 Lakhs.
- Design and Development of Condition Based Monitoring System for Pipelines,GAIL India (Ltd), 2 Years (2012-2014), Rs 80.18 Lakhs.
