Language Lab

A twenty-booth computer assisted language laboratory has been functioning in Room No. CC 122 under the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences since its inception at the BITS Pilani, K K Birla Goa Campus. This lab is primarily meant for enhancing the English language skills and communication skills of its users.

During July 2011, the 20-booth lab has been expanded to a 36-booth lab and the Odell language lab system has been installed. All the 36 computers are networked with the Teacher Console to enable the teacher to conduct the classes using the various modules of the Odell software and also to display educational videos to all users and discuss with them. The lab facilitates interactive discussion both one-to-one and group. Several video CDs on different aspects of communication such as Professional presentations, Business conversations, Nonverbal communication, Job Interviews, GDs, Public Speaking, etc., and on all the four language skills, namely, listening, speaking, reading and writing are used in the lab to enhance the student's understanding of the various forms of professional communication learnt in their classes.
