Deepak Pachattu joined the Department of Physics, BITS Pilani K K Birla Goa Campus in the year 2005. Born in Mysuru (or Mysore, as it was known earlier), the city of palaces, he obtained his B. Sc. degree from the Yuvaraja's College, Mysuru and his M. Sc. in Physics from the University of Mysore. He subsequently obtained his Ph. D. degree in Physics, also from the University of Mysore, in the year 2003. Before joining BITS, he was a post-doctoral Fellow at the Indian Institute of Astrophysics, Bangalore, India and a Humboldt Research Fellow at Forschungszentrum Juelich, Germany.
