Prof. Meenakshi Raman is currently heading the Humanities and Management Group at BITS Pilani-Goa Campus. After her 16- year stint in various capacities at the Pilani Campus, she joined the Goa campus on 01 June 2009. Her doctoral thesis was on an innovative topic: The Impact of Science and Technology on English Poetry.
Besides teaching, Dr. Raman has been associated with BITS Pilani administration assuming multifarious responsibilities - Chief of Publications and Media Relations; Group Leader of Languages Group; Resident warden of the Girls' Hostel; Professor-in-charge of Languages and Humanistic Studies Association; Member of Senate, Research Board, Library Committee, Committee for Combating Sexual Harassment, Faculty Recruitment Committee, etc. With her passion for teaching and publishing, she has been able to author and edit several books in the areas of professional and technical communication. As an active researcher, she has been guiding many faculty members in their research leading to Ph.D. degree of the Institute. Dr. Raman has travelled across India and to several countries abroad to present papers at prestigious conferences. She has conducted workshops and delivered talks on invitation from various Institutions in India.
Dr. Raman enjoys reading classical literature and modern fiction and loves listening to Bollywood songs. She believes in Paulo Coelho's wise statement nothing in this world happens by chance, everything happens by choice.
