About the Faculty:
Dr. K. N. Ponnani joined BITS Pilani KK Birla Goa campus in July 2010 as consultant R&D and a member of faculty. Now he is a Professor (on Contract) in the department of Chemical Engineering. His activities include promoting Industrial engagement of faculty members and encouraging collaborative and joint programs with funding from Industry and other funding agencies.
Dr. Ponnani has almost 36 years of experience in industrial R&D and has been involved in designing, fabricating, installing and commissioning bench scale, pilot scale and demonstration units in a spectrum of industries. In the last 20 years he has been a engineering R&D and process consultant to many small, medium, large and very large industries. He is active as engineering product consultant to many Indian and foreign equipment suppliers for laboratory and pilot plant equipment.
In the last 35 years he has been associated with many universities and engineering colleges in western region as guest faculty, member of panel of examiners, academic council member and in various academic committees.
His professional interests include advanced mass transfer and separation technologies, process intensification, Chemical reaction engineering and Process systems engineering.
He is deeply involved in energy and environmental issues, green technology and sustainable development and is engaged in promoting the concept of Technology Management and TECHNONOMY across a spectrum of technologies
