He received a Ph.D. in chemical engineering jointly from National Institute of Technology, Rourkela and Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology (CSIR), Bhubaneswar in 2008. He completed his B.E. chemical engineering from Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology, Sarang in 2001. He joins as assistant professor in chemical engineering group of BITS in 2008. He was working as an assistant professor in chemical engineering department of Maharashtra Academy of Engineering for one year. He was also working in Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology (CSIR), Bhubaneswar for five years.
At BITS Pilani, K.K. Birla Goa Campus he has taught a wide variety of courses which include process control, mass transfer operation, advanced process control, computer aided process plant design, chemical process technology, measurement technique-II and process plant simulation.
Research Interest:
His research interest includes waste water treatment, separation processes, atmospheric precipitation, emission of green house gases and renewable energy. Much of his research in waste water treatment has emphasized the development of new low cost adsorbents for the treatment of Cr(VI) contaminated waste water. Apart from waste water treatment, he is also attached to various environment related programs like chemical composition of aerosol, rainwater, emission of green house gases from agricultural activities and anaerobic digestion of sewage sludge for biogas production.
Dr. Baral has published a number of research papers in different international journal of repute. He also presented a number of papers in different national and international conference. He has also published two books and one book chapter under different international publisher like Willey and VDM. At present, he is guiding Two students for their Ph.D and one student completed his Ph.D. under his guidance.
