A Prototype model of Multilevel inverter fed Induction Motor Drive is organized. It consists of a Three level Diode clamped Inverter fed 5Hp Induction Motor(Squirrel cage). It is arranged to test the control strategies like Field oriented Control (FOC)Direct Torque Control (DTC), Predictive Torque Control (PTC), etc. These control strategies are initially developed to control the high performance Induction Motor Drives where smooth operation is required for achieving dynamic response of the drive in terms of speed and torque.

[Project] Dr. Souvik Kundu (PI) and Prof. Souri Banerjee (Physics, co-PI) received a project from BRNS (3 years, ~35 lakhs) - "Metal-oxide and Nanocomposite based low-power non-volatile switching device".
