Research background: After my M.Sc., I joined VECC-Calcutta as a research assistant in the Helium recovery division for one year. In 1991, I joined IIT-Kanpur as a research scholar in the Nuclear Physics Laboratory, Department of Physics, under Professor R.M. Singru in experimental condensed matter physics using the room and low-temperature Mossbauer spectroscopy. I studied several industrial materials, ores, metallic glasses, etc. The title of the Ph.D. thesis is "Mossbauer Spectroscopic Study of Some Iron-Based Alloys, Metallic Glasses, and Minerals." My first theoretical postdoctoral work from "The materials and Metallurgical Engineering Department" was at IIT-Kanpur under Professor Nirupam Chakraborti on "Calculation of Ternary Alloys Phase Diagram" under " Calculation of Ternary All, a DRDO project. Before joining BITS-Pilani in December 2000, I was in the Physics Department, Emory University, Atlanta, as a postdoctoral fellow for a couple of years.
