Other Works

Working with students (under graduate and post graduate) for their small project works is a pleasure and is also considered of prime importance at BITS Pilani. Many of the projects had interesting and useful outcome like: Vehicle for village road with road-rut, E-waste disposal, Human detection, Smart electric lamp, Welding simulator, Rope climbing bot, Drones design features, MR fluid etc.
 
Design Projects (DE G522) course, give me a new set of opportunity and challenges in 2003. My students’ made several interesting and useful prototypes. An innovative bi-cycle stand with 40% space saving is installed in large numbers at new Library complex.
 
Ongoing prominent project as faculty mentor for student group is Hyperloop-India. The student team from BITS Pilani is one among the only two qualified from whole of Asia to be tested and race their pod (designed and fabricated) on the Hyperloop test track built by SpaceX in Hawthorne, California (find more about it in http://hyperloopindia.in/)
 
Working on India's First International conference on Sports Engineering as Conference chair (find more about it in http://www.bits-pilani.ac.in/icse2017/)
 
 Over the years I have guided several thesis works for graduate and undergraduate students, predominantly in Mechanical Engineering Design related areas or on Green technology. I have guided two Ph. D, Thesis works and two others are on-going. All in the general area of application of CO2 Trans critical technology in warm weather.
