About me

I did my Ph.D. in Astronomy from the Graduate Institute of Astronomy at National Central University in Taiwan during 2003 and 2007.  I was a post doctoral research associate at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign for a year in 2009.  My research interests are primarily in the field of star formation.  Young stars are deeply embedded in their natal molecular clouds and are not visible at optical wavelengths.  Near-infrared wavelengths allow to see through the opaque molecular clouds and hence are better suited for star-formation studies.  In addition, young stars typically being much brighter in X-rays as compared to main-sequence stars, are detected in X-ray based surveys.  I use X-ray and near-infrared wavelength observations to select young star candidates and study issues related to star formation and interaction between massive stars and interstellar media.
