About Me:

I completed my M.Sc. from Mohan Lal Sukhadia University (MLSU), Udaipur in 1998 and earned my Ph.D. from M L S U, Udaipur in 2005 after clearing CSIR-UGC-NET-JRF exam in 1999. Later I joined BITS Pilani, Pilani Campus as a Lecturer in the Physics Department on 25th July 2005.  I am an Associate Professor in the Physics Department of BITS, Pilani, Pilani Campus.  I have been working as a Head of the Physics Department of Pilani Campus since 1st Sept. 2020.  In the present academic year (2022-23), two of my PhD students have defended their thesis.  At present I am guiding two PhD students.  In the year 2022, under the Schmidt Futures and IIE, India umbrella, I worked as a faculty reviewer in the Quad Fellowship’s first cohort by the Schmidt Futures.  This cohort is for sponsoring the fellowship to the students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) streams in the Master and PhD programme in the USA.

My research interests lie in the theoretical calculation of differential cross sections and spin asymmetry in the coincidence (e, 2e) and (e, 3e) ionization processes on atoms and ions by plane/twisted electron beam.  I have also interest to apply these processes on solid targets, particularly in the electron induced Auger electron (e, 3e) processes, many-body plasmon excitations etc..  I have some interest in Non Linear Dynamics and Chaos and their application to Cryptography.  We completed a multi-institutional Marie Curie IRSES project of € 2.7 lacs on "A multiple scattering computing platform for (nano) materials" under  FP-7 Programme of European Commission  (2012-2016).
I led a work package on "Impact Spectroscopy techniques within multiple scattering" in the project.  I have been to Europe for around 10 months (Jan. to July, 2013, May-July, 2014, 2016) regarding this project and visited University de Rennes1 (France), Institute of Physics of Cezch Acadamy of Sciences, Prague and LNF, Frascati (Italy) as a Marie Curie Researcher.  Apart from this project, I completed 2 DST projects as a Principal Investigator (PI).  At present, I am a PI of the DST-SERB project under the CRG scheme of the SERB.  I reviewed papers of J. Phys. B (IOP, London), European J Phys. D, Sadhana (Springer)etc.  I am also involved in the review of the DST-SERB projects in 2022.  I have an active collaboration with Dr. Didier Sebilleau (University of Rennes, France) in the last 10 years.  This resulted in the joint publications, joint projects, joint PhD supervision and many exchange visits during this period.
