What are the programme objectives?
The programme aims to prepare aspirants for engineering/development roles in the Big Data industry. Learners who pursue this program will acquire the requisite skills in Computer Science and Data Engineering needed by the industry for the development of Big Data Platforms and Applications. Additionally, learners will also acquire skills of technical Problem Solving and good software development practices.
What are the learning outcomes?
- Select and implement appropriate data structures to solve big data problems and also write Map and Reduce codes for distributed processing of data.
- Perform batch processing operations on Big Data on their own computer as well as on the Cloud. They will also be able to retrieve and store data in HDFS &HBase using MapReduce & Apache Pig
- Ingest structured and unstructured data into big data processing systems and perform data transformations using Hive.
- Process Big Data on Cloud and use Oozie for workflow management
- Build real time data pipelines using Apache Storm and Apache Spark and also process the data stream for subsequent analysis
- Perform analytics on the big data using Spark MLLib and build dashboards for visualizing the results
What is the eligibility criteria?
Working Professionals, with minimum 6 months of work experience, holding a minimum 3 years Bachelor's Degree - like BE/B.Tech. /B.Sc./BCA or equivalent (with adequate Mathematics and Computation background) and having minimum 55% marks or equivalent in undergraduate degree examinations.
