Fund Management and Implementation
Our goal is to create an endowment fund with a capital of Rs. 2 Crores, which shall be invested in a fixed deposit (at the best prevailing rates), and the interested generated from it shall be used to provide scholarships to the students meeting the criteria. At present, Merit-Cum-Means Scholarships are awarded to students whose annual family income from all sources is less than Rs. 8 Lakhs.
Profile and academic performance of each student awarded the scholarship by the BITS Scholarship Endowment Fund shall be available here.
Impact
The scholarships awarded would help make BITS an inclusive campus and prospective students would be well supported, especially those from disadvantaged background. Many recipients of the MCN in the past have been successful in various walks of life. Eventually, we hope all MCN scholarship recipients give back in some way to deserving sections of the society.
Beneficiaries
The scholarships are provided through dual criteria of Merit and Family Income. While merit is decided as per CGPA (exact CGPA is announced every semester), the family income criteria is set at Rs.8,00,000 (8 Lacs) per annum, from all sources.
So, all qualifying students would have a certain minimum CGPA and their annual family income shall not exceed Rs. 8 Lacs from all sources.
