Research

The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences provides opportunities and resources to its faculty and students for the pursuit of research and development. The faculty members of the department have varied research interests and have published in reputed national and international journals. The department organizes seminars, workshops and also publishes the Campus newsletter and student journal.

The Department offers Ph.D. programmes in various disciplines of Humanities and Social Sciences such as Sociology, Public Policy, Economics, Linguistics, Finance, Management, International Relations, Political Science and Psychology. The faculty of the Department have a wide range of research interests and expertise that include sustainable happiness, linguistics, technical and business communication, human resource management, corporate sustainability, organizational behavior, macroeconomics, international trade and finance, applied microeconomics, public policy and governance, urban development, international relations, contemporary Japanese politics and East Asian affairs, political geography, security studies childhood studies and social theory, positive psychology, work family studies, wellbeing research, stock market dynamics and corporate finance. Several of the Department’s doctoral students have already been awarded their PhDs, while several are currently working on their doctoral theses.
