Professor D. Jalaluddin Shariff has more than 35 years of teaching experience. He has been working with BITS Pilani, Dubai Campus since 2002. Earlier, he has worked for NIMS group, Dubai as Principal and as teaching faculty at one of the prestigious Institutes of Madras University, The New College, Chennai. He has guided Ph.D. students and many thesis, dissertations and projects undertaken by first degree and higher degree students as well as handled classes for research scholars, undergraduate, postgraduate and distance education students. He has very vast administrative experience as he has held high positions in his present institute as Dean and Registrar. To his credit, he has served 1TNBN Infantry Unit as a Company Commander and participated in innumerable feats, presented the esteemed RD Parade Rajpat March.

His research areas are Environmental Biology, Animal Cell Technology and Biomass for Renewable Energy and Animal Fodder Production.
