About the Faculty

Anirban completed his B.Tech (Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata) in 2007, M.E. (Jadavpur Universitty, Kolkata) in 2009 and PhD (Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, 2012-2016) in chemical engineering. He has worked as research assistant in University of Rhode Island, as an engineer in M.N. Dastur & Co. Pvt. Ltd. and a Senior Engineer and Team Leader of Advanced Filtration Technologies for Tech Mahindra / GE Appliances. Anirban has worked extensively in membrane separation technology specializing in hemodialysis membranes. He has also worked on water treatment, food technology and product design and development. Anirban has also mentored biomedical start ups (in collaboration with FICCI). Anirban has also founded ESSIL (Epione Swajal Solutions India LLP) which is involved in commercialization of the technologies developed in laboratory. ESSIL has recently inked a Indo-US tie up with Next-ChemX for design of Pilot Plant for Lithium extraction which is going to be commissioned in Austin, Texas for testing on Bolivian brine.

He is also on the Board of Directors for Trumed Medical Devices Pvt. Ltd. which has blossomed into 3 Cr (annual revenue) generating group.

Prof. Roy was on Extraordinary Leave, where he is heading (CEO & Director) Biomimicry Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Delhi, to commercialize India's first Solar powered decentralized sewage treatment plants.
