About  myself

I am a Senior professor at the Chemical Engineering Department. I obtained my Ph.D from Jadavpur University, Kolkata in 1995 in Physics (Materials Science). After teaching at  Universiti Sains Malaysia, a premier university in Malaysia for seven years I joined BITS Pilani Goa Campus in 2005. Apart from teaching I also actively pursues research in the area of Materials Science and Engineering with current focus on nanomaterials and nano-biomaterials. I have been involved in collaborative research with faculty in the department of Biological Sciences and Chemistry since joining BITS.

I have been associated with BITS Pilani administration  in various capacities as Associate Dean Faculty Affairs, Assistant Dean Practice school in the past and am a  Member of Senate, Chairperson of Departmental  Recruitment Committee. I am currently/or have been associated with various other academic and administrative bodies like Campus level recruitment committee for tenured and non tenured faculty, student disciplinary committee, Non teaching staff performance evaluation committee and others. I have also been a member of the ICC and served as the Presiding officer for several years. I have also been part of final interview for recruitment of faculty for the department as an internal expert.

 

Singing, painting and reading are some of my hobbies.
