Workshop on Evolving Technologies in Network and Communication Systems (ENCoS)
About the course
The mobile communication and network technologies are fast evolving, the prime focus being augmenting a higher data rate and ubiquitous coverage to various kinds of technologies such as vehicular, IoT, and user communication. In order to achieve this goal, the fifth generation cellular network (5G) is a gambit of advanced technologies such as the use of carrier aggregation, network slicing, Cloud radio access network (C-RAN), and software defined radio (SDR).
The workshop is intended to look at all the aspects and technologies which will contribute to bringing the heterogeneous technologies under an umbrella. We shall focus on the following key-players of the next generation converged network: Architecture for the next generation converged network with the focus on 5G, millimeter waves, SDN/NFV as C-plane for network convergence, visible light communication/LiFi, Software defined radio.
Topics of interest:
1. Architecture for Converged Network
2. 5G cellular networks
3. Visible Light Communication/Li-Fi
4. Dynamic and opportunistic networks
5. Role of SDN/NFV for network convergence
