Teaching Excellence Award
K.V.N. Rao, a member of the Business Faculty of Dubai Women's College (DWC) was recently awarded the Region 8 Teaching Excellence Award by the American-based Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). The ACBSP structure is composed of eight regions, seven in the United States and one which includes the international colleges that are accredited by the organization.
Mr. Rao received his award at the ACBSP’s 16th Annual Conference in Washington, D.C. in June 2005.
The criteria used by the ACBSP for selection of the award include innovation, creativity and community involvement. “Rao has consistently succeeded in implementing DWC’s mission of preparing young UAE Nationals for the workplace by implementing a blended approach to teaching and learning through the use of IT and business,” stated Dr. Howard Reed, DWC Director. “He is an exemplary teaching professional who has been duly recognized for his innovative teaching methods by the receipt of this award by his peers.”
Prior to coming to DWC nine years ago, Mr. Rao gained extensive experience teaching business in Singapore and working in the IT industry in India. His cross-functional expertise in business and IT has proven to be a perfect mix for the students at the College.
