• Industry Immersion

  Objective	Eligibility	Outcome
  To gain exposure to processes; To have good understanding of how theory learnt in classrooms be translated to job on floor; Help company in solving various unsolved technical problems (Duration: 2-8 weeks)	Faculty at Asst.Prof and above;  Should have minimum of 1year experience at BITS Dubai; Should have met an annual performance rating of ME	Incorporate the experienced gained to learning in classroom instruction, develop lab based experiments and identify key areas of research and generate project funds

   

  Financial Support	Selection Process
  Supports similar to other Indian Campus policy will be provided	A selection committee comprising of  Director, a senior faculty member and Dean Faculty Affairs will review  and process the applications.

   

• Faculty -University Immersion

  Objective	Eligibility	Outcome
  Gain exposure in current and latest advances in research; Initiating new areas of research  and research grant; to develop cross disciplinary collaboration across campuses (Duration: 8-10 weeks)	Faculty at Asst.Prof and above;  Should have minimum of 3years experience at BITS Dubai; Should have met an annual performance rating of ME	Incorporate in classroom instructions by redesigning curriculum, developing case studies and assiging new technical projects to students at UG,PG and Phd scholars

   

  Financial Support	Selection Process
  Supports similar to other Indian Campus policy will be provided	A selection committee comprising of  Director, two senior faculty member and Dean Faculty Affairs will review  and process the applications.

   

• Research Initiation Grant

  Objective	Eligibility	Outcome
  Help newly joint faculty to begin research related activities and move forward working towards generating external fundings (Duration: Two years; extendable by one more year upon satisfactory progress in the project)	Any new faculty  appointed at Asst.Prof and above	Externally funded projects should be generated as outcome

   

  Financial Support	Selection Process
  Supports similar to other Indian Campus policy will be provided	Application will be reviewed by DRC committee and on recommendation, Director will consider for approval of grant

   

• Seed Grant

  Objective	Eligibility	Outcome
  To start a research project that has potential to sustain by attracting external funds; to promote novel research ideas;to generate IPR and product/process development; to attract and retain talent (Duration: Two years; extendable by one more year upon satisfactory progress in the project)	Any faculty member with proven track record of quality research and employed in BITS for atleast one year	Externally funded projects should be generated as outcome

   

  Financial Support	Selection Process
  Supports similar to other Indian Campus policy will be provided	Pre-proposals should be submitted, Shortlisted applicants will be asked to submit full proposal for a maximum of 7 pages and give a presentaion before the selection committee.

   

• Travel support

  Objective	Eligibility	Outcome
  To enable faculty members and students to attend conferences, workshops and visit other institutions for acadermic research (Duration: NA)	All the faculty members and students are elgible	Exposure to latest developments in research areas

   

  Financial Support	Selection Process
  Support for travel, registration fee and stay will be provided	Award of the support is related to the quality of the paper and conference. Incase of other visits, outome of the visit should benefit the institution and self professionally.
