Dr.Siddhaling Urolagin is Associate Professor in department of CS and an expert in machine learning, data science, data mining, neural network, deep learning, NLP, text mining, image recognition. He has completed B.E from Gogte Institute of Technology, Belgaum in 2001 and M.Tech from Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal in 2004. Both are in discipline of Computer Science and Engineering. He has obtained PhD from Manipal University in the area of machine learning and pattern recognition. His research has been recognized as second best research at Manipal University. He has been granted AICTE fund for an application of document image analysis to translate scanned document to Braille equivalent during his PhD. He has been awarded PhD in computer science and engineering from president of India Hon’ble Smt. Prathibha Patil in 2010.
He pursued Post-Doctoral research from Lund University, Sweden between years 2012 to 2014 in application of machine learning to bioinformatics. He published around 17 international journal papers, 36 international conference papers. Currently he a recognized guide in BITS-Pilani and Vishwesharya Technical University, Belgaum and guiding 2 PhD students.
