E-Summits Started E-Summits in BITS, Pilani K. K. Birla Goa Campus
To promote entrepreneurial thinking among the BITSian community and create business leaders in all spheres of life is our mission statement. To achieve this one of our key initiatives is to conduct a National Level Conference with most speakers being young start up founders. The aim of the conferences is to bring to the youth the true stories of inspiration, passion and determination of young personalities who dared to take the road not taken. Our attempt in each conference is to bring together people who have done something unconventional -- something off the beaten path -- to bring about a transformation in some way.
Our first step in this regard was the hosting of Grassroots, a conference on Social Entrepreneurship, January 15,2011. The second conference was named, Agora February 26,2012 and featured in the program Starting Up on the popular news channel ET Now.
In 2014 we defined our conferences as ACT: Aspire Create and Transform .The first ACT conference, held on April 19,2014 focused on 'How to start a million dollar company, while still in college?'
In August 30-31 2014 the conference was merged into an Entrepreneurship Summit( E-Summit): Coalescence . The last such E-Summit was held on September 5-6, 2015.
Besides workshops on ‘ How to build a business plan”, ‘ The Art of Pitching’, Hackathons and Act Conference the summit invites budding start ups to exhibit their skill and vision on a global stage and get a chance to be mentored by top entrepreneurs of their field. The event at the core of all its initiatives, is aimed at helping the brightest, the boldest and the most exciting young minds in India, get inspired to prosper. The initiative aims to bridge the gap between brilliant ideas and their execution and operation. The competitions are judged by incubator professionals from across the country and winning ideas receive both funding and mentoring . To mention the incubators which have partnered with us in this regard: Seedfund (Bangalore, Delhi), CIBA (Goa), Tlabs (Delhi), Collaborant (Bangalore) ,Villgro (Chennai) , Leading Angels (Mumbai), Unitus (Bangalore), Ah! Ventures (Bangalore), 91Springboard (New Delhi), Venture Studio (Ahmedabad) and many more.
