Multi-peice Glass-Reinforced Polymer Composites for Rehabilitation of Sewage Applications
The objective of the research is to design and development a multi-piece structural GRP rehabilitation piping system for efficient installation inside sewers that does not have access to large diameter pipes and to reduce the transportation cost of large diameter pipes. The mechanical testing of coupon level specimens and part level specimens will be tested to analyze the mechanical behavioral changes in a multi-piece pipe compared to a unitary pipe. The chemical resistance under acidic environment testing at coupon level and part level will be performed to check the effect of different environmental conditions on a multi-piece and unitary piece pipe. Numerical modelling will be performed from the obtained test data for both mechanical and chemical testing of the pipes.

Additive Manufacturing of Bio-inspired Metamaterials
The objective of this work is to create bio-inspired thin walled structures based on chiral and horsetail-bionic designs. Developed designs are manufactured using SLA 3D printer from Formlabs and testing under compression on Shimadzu servopulser UTM with 100kN capacity. The finite element analysis is conducted in Abaqus FEA.
