R&D Activities and Achievements

Industry Experience (From 1997-2000)

·         Independently established & run a modern tissue culture laboratory with Punjab Govt. sanctioned grant of Rupees. 25 lakhs to promote Hi-Tech. Agriculture in the Punjab state.

·         Trained the laboratory staff in various techniques for performing different operations related to Tissue Culture.

·         Standardized the protocols for production of green house grown micropropagated plants through spindle, auxiliary buds and leaf discs for commercially important sugarcane varieties and produced about 5 lakh plants.

·         Five other tissue culture units in Punjab and Chandigarh are using protocols developed.

 At BITS Pilani, Dubai Campus

      Co investigator of  WWEM -IDR Project of BITS Pilani

·         First degree projects/Thesis  supervised

·     Organized one day seminar on Agricultural Biotechnology in collaboration with International Center for Biosaline Agriculture, Dubai and number of other guest lectures in biotechnology by Scientists from International repute.

·         Initiated MoU with ICBA, UAE and coordinating for Research work- Isolated and characterized stress tolerant rhizobial strains in collaboration with ICBA (first time from this region).

·         Coordinated PS-2 and Research activities at USUHS, Maryland USA, Involved in interview, and selection of students for PS-program.

·         As  local Chair , Organized International conference on Advances in Biotechnology in partnership with Global Science and Technology Forum (GSTF) March 2014

     As organizing secretary ,Organized International Conference on Biotechnology and Bioengineering ICBB-2014  
     in partnership with Microbiologist Society of India from 29-30 October 2014
