Research in Department of Chemical Engineering

The Department has initiated fundamental and applied research in several thrust areas in Chemical Engineering through the constant efforts of faculty. The Department has been successful in securing grants to the tune of approximately Rs. 6,00,00,000/- till date from several Government and private funding agencies like DST, MNRE, Ministry of Fertilizers, GAIL (India) Ltd., Thermax Limited, Aditya Birla Group, etc..

Faculty are involved in research that covers a large spectrum of Chemical Engineering including material science, carbon dioxide capture, fuel cells, process intensification, coke reduction and mitigation in reactor systems, unmixed combustion and separation technologies with focus on environment.. Faculty members have significant publications in national and international journals and have participated in several national and international seminars. The Department also encourages student level participation in projects under the supervision of faculty at various levels during the academic programme.
