Research Interest

1.    Role of polyamines and other small molecule analogues in the management of metabolic disorders in females like the polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS).

2.     Investigating regulation of hypothalamic GnRH I by polyamines: both in vivo and in vitro approaches.

3. To understand the role of alternative splicing in the hypothalamus during metabolic disorder.

      4.    Understanding the role of histone deacetylase in adiposity associated gynaecological cancer.

Completed project:

SERB Young Scientist project entitled ''Regulation of hypothalamic gonadotropin releasing hormone expression by putrescine in female rats”

SERB grant approved 2018-Exploring the effects of polyamine and associated metabolic regulation of hypothalamic GnRH-GnIH synthesis and release during ageing in BALB/cJ mice.

On going as Co-PI:

A study on molecular mechanisms of alternative splicing and its regulator SMAR1 in TNF-α induced metabolic syndrome in mammalian skeletal muscle and hypothalamic neuronal cells (BT/PR40104/BRB/10/1898/2020
