Graduated Research Scholars: 3
Name : Dr. A. Venkatesan
Date of Joining PhD Program: 01/03/2013
Date thesis defended : 05/08/2018
Current Position : Postdoctoral Fellow - Kyunghee University - South Korea
Thesis Title : Structural and optical properties of one dimensional nanomaterials for sensing applications.
About:
Dr Venkatesan worked on optical and electrical characteristics of one dimensional system for his PhD thesis. His work primarily focuses on developing 1D structures for sensing applications. He used hydrothermal method for growing nano-rods which is a very facile technique to realize highly quality crystalline nanostructures. The as synthesized nanorods are then aligned between two electrodes using ac dielectrophoresis and he studied their electrical characteristics. Currently he is working with Prof. Gil-Ho Kim at Sungkyunkwan University as a Post-doctoral Fellow. He is currently working on developing TMDC based 2D heterostructures and this research is funded by National Research Foundation South Korea.
2. Name : Ms. Anu Roshini
Date of Joining PhD Program: 11/01/2017
Date Thesis defended : 13/05/2022
Current Position : Postdoctoral fellow at IISc Bangalore
Title of Thesis : Physical and Chemical Engineering of Transition metal dichalcogenides and metal oxide nanostructures to enhance their electrical and optical characteristics
About:
Anu Roshini completed her M.Sc Physics from Krishnamaal College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore. She joined as a project assistant in June 2016 under the DST project "Improving the energy conversion efficiency of Solar Cells using spin caloritonics". For her doctoral thesis she extensively worked with metal oxide and transition metal dichalcogenides based nanostructures for various device application. She engineered the properties of these nanomaterials by modifing their chemical composition and morphology using different doping and growth techniques.
