FunMatES
Functional Materials for Electrochemistry and Solar Energy
Our group main focus is on the development of novel functional materials for energy related applications. A variety of electrochemical, spectroscopic and microscopic techniques will be used to understand the processes happening at the (electro)catalyst/solution interface.
Research Interests
Nanomaterials for energySolar fuelsWater splittingElectrochemistryUltrathin layered materials
Molecular spin/electronicsNitrogen fixation
Presently we are interested in rational designing of materials for the following.
Electrons to Molecules
We are interested in utilizing electrons generated via sustainable approaches such as solar, electrochemical methods etc. to generate chemicals such as hydrogen, ammonia, hydrocarbons etc. that store energy.
Role of Electrons' Spin in Catalysis
Spin property of electron will be explored in the conversion/generation of value-added chemicals.
Position Available
Interested UG and M.Sc students can approach PI to discuss about the possibility of project works.
Interested self funded PhD and Post-doc candidates with chemistry and material science background are encouraged to contact.
Post-docs with strong background in electrochemistry and material science who are interested in pursuing in the area of solar fuel generation are welcome and can contact PI for the possibility to apply for external funding like
national postdoctoral fellowship (N-PDF).
