Summary of academic administrative experience and accomplishments

• As Associate Dean, Academic Registration and counseling Division successful in establishing, maintaining and monitoring all the practices to implement flexible academic environment and to oversee the mechanism of examinations & evaluations to graduate the students in accordance with the academic regulations of BITS Pilani.  
• Proficient with decision making process at university/campus/departmental levels through the active involvement as member of various decision making bodies such as Senate, Examination Committee, Library committee, Disciplinary Committee, Academic Counseling Board (ACB) of BITS.
• Steered a group of students to develop a full-fledged software solution "ReMo” to implement extremely complex academic flexible environment. The developed software is put in to use from First semester 2009 - 2010 onwards, at BITS.
• As Convener, Academic Counseling Board at BITS, Pilani – Hyderabad Campus established a wide variety of counselling and monitoring practices to steer the underperforming students back to their studies.
• Conceptualized, started extending the professional counseling services at BITS, Pilani – Hyderabad campus.
• Proficient with the process of planning and allotment activities for student's Practice school programs.
• As a nucleus member of planning cell of Practice School Division of BITS, Pilani, executed successfully the planning and allotment activities to run Practice school programs
• Member, Board of studies, deemed to be universities: As a member of Board of studies, MREC, Hyderabad; BVRIT, Hyderabad, had been instrumental in the whole revision of mechanical engineering curriculum at undergraduate and post graduate levels.
• Expert reviewer, curriculum review exercise: As a member, Mechanical engineering stream, had been instrumental in the whole revision of mechanical engineering curriculum at undergraduate and post graduate levels at ICFAI university at Hyderabad
• Member, Faculty selection committee: As a member, faculty selection, had been instrumental in the recruitment of mechanical engineering faculty members (selection and ratification) for ICFAI university, BVRIT, MREC at Hyderabad.

Details of academic administrative experience and accomplishments

As Associate Dean, Faculty - in - charge, Academic Registration and Counselling (ARC) Division; Convener, Academic Counselling Board (ACB); Member, Examination Committee; Member, Task force on Students’ Counselling for VISION 2020, Mission 2012 at BITS Pilani – Hyderabad Campus, was responsible for

• Overseeing students’ semester wise courses’ registration.
• Overall supervision and monitoring of continuous academic performance evaluation activities taken up by all the faculty members at BITS Pilani – Hyderabad Campus.
• Overseeing the process of finalizing the end semester grades, and processing all the documents to the satisfaction of examination committees and the Senate of BITS Pilani.
• Finalization of Transcripts, Provisional Certificates and Degrees of the outgoing students as required by the examination committees and Senate of BITS Pilani for awarding degrees.
• Developing methodical tools for counselling under performing students who are referred to Academic Counselling Board (ACB) as per the Academic Regulations of the Institute, so as to steer them out of the ACB through effective counselling activities.
• Conceptualizing, developing, testing and commissioning of computer based data management systems for the ARC Division of BITS, Pilani – Hyderabad Campus to achieve the twin objectives viz. (a) to efficiently perform all the above activities using upcoming information technology tools and (b) to give the students an opportunity to pursue their interest of working on live projects using the latest information technology tools.  
• Providing inputs on “strengthening academic and career counselling mechanisms for students” to the high power steering team on the project “Leadership Through Excellence, BITS, Pilani VISION 2020 MISSION 2012”, meant for achieving excellence in 6 thrust areas through the 34 predefined goals. 

Specific Accomplishments

• Steered a group of carefully selected students to develop “online Registration” software for Hyderabad campus which incorporates all the academic flexibilities of BITS allowing more than 2000 students to choose their courses (subjects), lecture/tutorial/practical sections/teachers for each course on the first day of starting of every semester. The developed software is put in to use from First semester 2009 - 2010 onwards.
• Completing the database management module for online updating and maintenance of academic performance records of all the students of BITS, Pilani – Hyderabad Campus. 

As In - charge, grading activities at BITS Pilani, Dubai for almost four years, was responsible for

• Planning and student allotment activities of Practice school – 1 (a summer term internship program conducted, for all first degree students of BITS, at more than 150 Industries/organizations in India).
• Planning and student allotment activities of Practice school – 2 (a semester long internship conducted, for all the students of BITS, at more than 150 Industries in India and abroad).
• Analysis of Practice School student reports and feedback reports etc.
• Guiding project /dissertation students for the Automation of Practice School Division.
