Research Interest

My research group seeks to understand molecular mechanisms involved in regulation of gene expression by RNA modifications and non-coding RNAs like micro RNAs and circular RNAs. We are particularly interested in understanding the roles of these gene regulatory processes in normal development and how defects in these mechanism may contribute to disease. We employ a variety of methodologies ranging from molecular biology, protein biochemistry, cell biology to computational biology to investigate the above gene regulatory mechanisms in context of skeletal muscle development i.e. skeletal myogenesis and oral cancer.

Current Members:
Dhansri K. (CSIR-UGC JRF) - Epitranscriptomic regulation of skeletal myogenesis
Jayasree P.J. (CSIR-UGC JRF) - Role of m6A RNA methylation in oral cancer

Alumni:
Monalisa N (M.E. Thesis Student)
Garima Singh (M.E. Thesis Student) - Current Position: PhD Student at BITS Pilani, Pilani Campus
Sucharita Banerjee (M.E. Thesis Student) - Current Position: PhD Student at IITB- Monash Research Academy

Master's Students with CSIR-JRF/ICMR-JRF/DBT-JRF are encouraged to apply for PhD positions.
