Research Interest

Our interest is to explore the following research areas in developing transition-metal-free, green synthetic methodologies for the synthesis of useful or new classes of organic molecules such as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), polycyclic heteroaromatics and trifluoromethylated heterocycles to achieve the ultimate goals, i.e, development of organic TADF materials for OLED applications and new drug-molecules for medicinal applications:
  • Iodine Catalyzed/Mediated Organic Transformations such as Chalcogenylative  Annulation of 2-Alkynyl Biaryls, Difunctionalization of Alkynes and C-H Functionalization of Alkenes to Access Potential Organic Molecules
  • C-H Trifluoromethylation and Trifluoromethylative Cyclization/Annulation Reactions to Synthesize New Classes of Biologically-active Heterocyclic Molecules
  • Electrochemical Organic Transformations
  • Visible-light-induced Organic Transformations
