Derailed inflammation has been recognized to be one of the contributory factors to origin/progression of various cancers. Interestingly, activation triggered metabolic changes have been proportionately correlated with the outcome of immune cell function. However, the role of host cell-small molecule metabolites derived during the physiological activity of an immune cell in regulating the subsequent fate of the immune cell still remains elusive. So, In our laboratory, we are interested in deciphering the signaling networks and associated immune cell metabolites that may not only contribute towards fine-tuning the immune cell function but also the inflammation-driven cancers.

Preliminary Results: 1. Impact of cholesterol derivatives regulating ER stress and inflammation
                                  2. Secondory metabolites influence the autophagy and impact immune cell function.
                                  3. Activated macrophage driven EMT in epithelial cells is reduced by secondory metabolites
