The Department over a period has acquired well-spaced modern laboratory facilities including gas, air and vacuum lines. There are a number of laboratory equipments in each of these laboratories such as rotary evaporators, spectrometers, digital melting point apparatus, cryogenic apparatus etc. The major equipments such as GC, HPLC, FTIR, NMR, Atomic Absorption spectrometer, Flourimeters, Polarimeters, Centrifuges, Electrochemistry equipments etc are available in the Central Analytical Laboratory.
The access to the computational chemistry packages such as Q-Chem 4.1, Gamess, Gaussian 09, etc and the molecular viewers like Molden, VMD, Gaussview, Avogadro, etc has enriched the Department in both research as well as teaching. We have computational research laboratories with a Sun Fire, IBM and NVIDIA servers with multi-core processors. Additionally, our MSc computational laboratory has eight PCs with limited access to a few of above softwares and is extensively used by students and faculty members in laboratory courses as well as in a few theory courses.
Access to many renowned national and international journals related to Chemistry and other disciplines is available through the institute library.
