Electric Machines Lab

Introduction

The lab is a fundamental lab in the department and is primarily a teaching lab. Various equipment include DC shunt motors, DC shunt generators, alternators, induction motors and transformers

Equipment available in Machine Laboratory

4-Ch (Isolated)  DSO (Tektronix): up to 200 MHz bandwidth and 2 GS/s sample rate, floating or differential measurements, 4-isolated channels, portable, battery-powered.

2-Ch DSO  (Tektronix): up to 2 GS/s sampling rate, bandwidths from 50 MHz to 200 MHz, dual channel frequency counters.

PA4000 Power Analyzer (Tektronix): Comprehensive power measurements. Dual current shunts provide optimal resolution from microwatts to kilowatts. Harmonics analysis up to 100th harmonic. Motor analysis with torque and speed inputs.

LCR meter (Nvis 9304T): Measurement of L, C, R, |Z|,D and Q with 0.3% basic accuracy, 3 meas/sec measurement rate and suitable 4 Bins comparator.

Current Probe (Tektronix):
A622: AC/DC – 100 kHz, 50 mA to 100 A peak, for DMMs and oscilloscopes.
A621:  AC/DC – 5 Hz to 50 kHz, 100 mA to 2000 A peak, for DMMs and oscilloscopes.

High Voltage Differential Probe (Tektronix): Bandwidths up to 200 MHz, up to 6000 V differential (DC + pk AC) ,Up to 2300 V common.
