  Abstract:  Cost-effective energy efficiency improvements can have positive macroeconomic impacts, boosting economic activity and often leading to increased employment. Growing energy consumption and increasing CO2 levels, the recent calibrations about environmental sustainability across the globe mandated to achieve the minimal energy consumption through employing energy-efficient technology. Energy intensity declined with industrial development due to technological advancement and efficient production system (Dasgupta & Roy, 2017). Most of the literature analyzed the relationship between energy consumption, carbon emission and economic growth. But the proposed study is based on the asymmetric impact of energy efficiency on total factor productivity growth using panel data analysis of selected developed and developing nations.
