Dr. Lakshmi Subramanian
Retired as professor of History from the Centre for Studies in Social Sciences, Calcutta and holds the position of Associate Fellow in the Institute of Advanced Studies, Nantes.
Her specialization is in the fields of economic and maritime history and in that of music and the performing arts in twentieth century South Asia. She has a number of publications to her credit.
More recently she has been working on two projects, one on Gandhi and Sonic nationalism in India and the other on Three Godrej products and their relevance on configuring middle class consuming imagination.
