New webtools designed in our lab for research that are being made available online
1. M1GS Target site finder:
An automated tool that predicts all the best possible target RNA sites for M1GS, an engineered bacterial ribozyme used to cleave any RNA of interest as a gene knockdown or reverse-genetic tool across prokaryotes and eukaryotes. It takes into consideration the secondary structure of RNA molecules predicted by RNAWebserver in combination with requirements of M1GS for binding and cleavage of the target RNA.
2. Primer design tool:
A custom-made primer design tool that upon submitting a query DNA sequence and specific set parameters, provides a list of all the best possible forward and reverse primers in the form of an excel sheet. It uses the APIs provided by Integrated DNA technologies to calculate the physical properties of different primers.
Both the tools were designed by Navin Chandra VP (Former M.Sc. Biological Sciences student of BITS-Pilani Hyderabad campus and a Project Fellow in our lab).
