To observe the behavior of the particles within the column, a halogen light is used for illumination, and images are captured using a Dantec Dynamics Studio FLOW SENSE EO 2M camera. The camera can capture images with a maximum resolution of 1600 x 1200 pixels at 7.4 frames per second. A computer is attached to the camera to store and pre-process the images. This setup can be used to study the behavior of particles in the fluidized bed column under different conditions.
Effect of powder morphology on flow hydrodynamics
Different powders: China clay, Diatomite, and Quartz were studied. (Fig 2 below)
