BITS Innovation Challenge
Keeping in line with BITS motto "Innovate, Achieve and Lead", Dubai Campus organised 1st BITS Innovation Competition (BIC 2019), a technology based innovation competition to provide sustainable solutions towards current issues. The competition was sponsored by Alumni with an aim to bring creative minds together to collaborate, work and provide solution to a problem. The Competition started with 60 teams registering their proposal, which were regularly monitored for their progress by the BIC organizing team comprised of Dr. Vincent S. Kumar, Dr. Neeru Sood, Dr. Trupti Gokhale, Dr. Eldose Iype and Dr. M. Raja. Based on the progress 23 teams were selected for the finale. Dubai Campus witnessed the conclusion of the competition on 9th November 2019. The judging panel was chaired by Dr. Chandrashekhar (EEE, Pilani Campus), Ms. Sandhya Prakash (BITSAA Chairperson, Founder Beacon Energy), and Dr. Scott Nowson (AI lead at PwC, Dubai). Team SolarGridX emerged as winner with Team Washes as 1st Runner up, Team AI Insurance as 2nd Runner up and Team Indoor Navigation as 3rd Runner up. The Award ceremony was held on 16th December 2019 where the winning teams were awarded their cash prize by our alumni sponsors, Mr. Ashok Galgotia, Mr. Lalit Jain. Ms. Sandhya Prakash and Mr. M. P. Sharma, the other two sponsors wished the awardees in absentia.
Scholarships
BITSAA International Scholarships is an initiative to encourage the pursuit of excellence and to ensure that no student at BITS, Pilani is denied a holistic educational experience and the opportunity to compete with the best due to a lack of funds. These scholarships have sponsored tuition fees, travel expenses for attending conferences and application costs towards pursuing graduate studies for the students apart from encouraging excellence in academics, sports, and liberal arts.
