Every year, hundreds of people worldwide, take a walk down the bitter-sweet memory lane of the invaluable years of their lives which shaped them into being the individuals they are today. This day, commemorated as BITSians’ Day, brings out the student within everyone. Old stories of laughter unfurl, memories awaken and friendships are recalled. Either through an online expression of nostalgia, or reconnecting with former batchmates, everyone has a different way of celebrating this joyful day. Each year, as a new batch steps out to make their mark, they choose this day to reflect, recognize and share the feelings which they hold most dear. On this day, BITS Pilani, Dubai Campus, echoes a time lapse of the priceless moments captured within these halls, and generates extreme admiration for those who, with their honour and dignity, have carried our legacy forward, for generations to witness.
BITSians' Day was celebrated by BITSAA Middle East on 2nd August 2019. The event saw around 20-25 alumni form Dubai and Abu Dhabi meeting up at Jazz@Pizza Express. It was a fun filled evening with the President of Dubai Chapter, Ghurair Sheikh welcoming the new BITSians in the region followed by loads of laughter and sharing of nostalgic moments spent during the hostel stay at BITS Pilani to a general networking. An evening well spent with fellow BITSians.
BITSians' day was celebrated on 3rd August 2018 at Jazz@Pizza Express, Dubai. The event saw a good turnout of alumni both residents as well as passersby. The event was jointly organized with BITSAA Middle East.
August 5th, commemorated as Bitsians Day is cherished across the globe by students and alumni alike. Each year, on this day, a newfound strength flurries within the student body when they realize how high they fly with BITS Pilani as their launch pad. For alumni, it is the awakening of memories. A reminiscence of a beautiful past which shaped them to be the individuals that they are today. For the newly graduated batch, it is a feeling of home, and of how their lives have turned around within a year.
