• Where can I get study loan for my education at BITS-Pilani Hyderabad Campus?

• Where is the BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus?

  The BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus is located in Jawaharnagar, Shameerpet Mandal on Karimnagar Highway, Hyderabad, Rangareddy District, Telangana State. It is approximately 25 kilometres from Secunderabad railway station, about 33 kilometers from Hyderabad railway station (Nampally)/ Imliban (Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station-MGBS) bus-station and about 70 km from Rajiv Gandhi international airport, Shamshabad.

• How do you reach the BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus?

  From the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (Shamshabad)

  There are regular bus services and cabs from the airport to Secunderabad Railway Station (see www.aeroexpress.com for details about the bus service). From the railway station one can take a bus for the campus.

  From the Railway Station

  From Secunderabad railway station to BITS-Pilani, Hyderabad Campus one has to travel 22 KM on Rajiv Rahadari/ Karim Nagar Highway, up to Dongala Mysamma junction after Alankruta Resorts in Thumkunta Village and take a right turn towards Ghatkesar. After travelling 1.5 KMs on this road, there is again a diversion to the right leading to the Campus. BITS? sign boards indicating the directions are available on the way.

  There is a direct Bus No. 212 from Secunderabad Railway station (Gurudwara Point) to BITS-Pilani Hyderabad Campus Main Gate Besides there are City Buses having numbers 211S, 211A, 211C, 211D, 211E, 211J, 211K, 211T, 211U, 567, 568, 569 fly from Secunderabad Railway Station to various destinations to the Campus side. Further, there are many APSRTC buses from Secunderabad, Jubilee bus-stand to KarimNagar, Siddhipet,Ramagundam,Gajwel, Cheriyal etc. People can board any of these buses, get down either at Thumkunta or Dongala Mysamma junction which is 1KM away and take an auto to the campus.

• What are the various courses offered at the BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus?

  All programmes offered at BITS, Pilani-Hyderabad are split into three groups as follows:

• Do students get scholarship at BITS?

  Yes. All the integrated first degree students are eligible to apply for scholarships in two schemes, 1) The merit scholarship which is awarded to the top 3% in a batch and 2) The Merit cum Need scholarship which is awarded to students who are meritorious but also has a financial need. To avail Merit Cum Need scholarship the students need to submit documents supporting the maximum income of the parents. On an average the Hyderabad Campus spends about Rs. 15 Crores per year in various scholarship schemes. Students also avail many other scholarships given by central government agencies like DST. About 30% of the students in a batch receive one or the other form of scholarship. 

• Where do I buy my books from?

  There is a bookstore called Book Syndicate in the shopping complex inside the campus where students can find books as well as other stationary items they require.

• Is BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus accredited?

  Yes, it is one of the four campuses of BITS Pilani. It has been accredited by the National Assessment & Accreditation Council (NAAC) with A grade with a CGPA of 3.71.

• I would like to know about the weather at Hyderabad.

  Hyderabad is a landlocked city with the famous Deccan rocks. The city never gets very cold. The temperature by and large remains moderate throughout the year except for a short spell of summer when the temperature touches 44 degree Celsius.

   

  The temperature in the city is as follows :

  Summer Temperature 20 - 41 degree Celsius.
  Winter 13 - 32 degree Celsius.

  
  

• What are the various communication facilities available in the campus?

  The communication facilities available in the campus include: 

  • Google E-mail service for all staff and students.
  • Internet connectivity of 155 Mbps fiber leased line and 90 Mbps LBR at all hostel rooms academic blocks and residential areas.
