She worked as a visiting scholar at Centre for Urban Energy at Ryerson university, Canada, under the University Exposure Abroad programme of BITS Pilani during June - August 2016.  The centre has state-of-the-art equipments and softwares and has active collaboration with Toronto Hydro, Ontario Power Authority and Hydro One which are the major players in the power and energy sector at Ontario, Canada. She worked on energy storage and renewables during the programme. Dr. Bhavani also interacted with the research teams working on the sponsored projects on Consumer-generated energy conservation and Performance of green buildings.
