Radhika did her PhD work on formal quantization techniques at the Institute of Mathematical Sciences, Chennai, under Dr G Date. Her Thesis was entitled “Studies in Quantization: Methods for Constrained Systems and Semi-classical Spectra of Many-body Systems”. She was a CSIR Research Associate at Harish Chandra Research Institute, Allahabad till 2001 December after which she joined the Physics Group at BITS Pilani (Pilani Campus) where she was associated with the Distance Learning Programme Division. She moved to the Goa Campus in December 2004.
Her primary research interest is Quantum Information Theory and Foundations of Quantum Mechanics.
Other areas she has worked in the past include Mathematical Physics (formal quantization), Many-body Physics (multi-particle clusters, anyon physics, fractional statistics) and High Energy Physics (gravitation, string theory).
She is passionate about teaching and tries out different methods of active learning and blended learning in her classes.
She has written a text book on Quantum Physics and Quantum Information addressed to undergraduate students, published by CRC Press in 2015
She also has an abiding interest in Indian Classical music as a vocalist and veena player.
She is also researching the acoustic characteristics and construction mechanics of Indian musical instruments, in collaboration with the Mech Engg dept.
